I recently installed a new and larger ssd on my computer. When I attempted to clone my old ssd, it corrupted my old windows 7 on the original ssd and left me with a blue screen version on my new ssd. So after reformatting the new ssd and completing a clean install of windows 8 I am ready to move my lightroom 3 over. I want to do this without losing all my work on my photos and I am not enthused with cloning my old ssd as it did not work and left me with days of frustration. Please help with the best way to accomplish this.
Do you still have access to your catalog and other files in that folder? And, are your images still organized in the same manner as they were before?
Yes I have the old ssd plugged into a usb port however I don't see my lightroom program.
Install Lr 3 to your new SSD using the original cd.
You can also downlad version 3.6 from here: Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows
Then copy your catalog, previews, and images over from the old disk, and make sure everything goes to the same location as on the old disk.
