Hi I don't know asp...
Is flashform.asp in the same directory as your swf file on the server?
Thanks for the reply. Yes its in the same directory, but as I said the asp seems to be working fine as I have posted a simple HTML form to it,
And I just checked LoadVars send method
perhaps it should be
If you don't want to specify a target for browser I think you need to use sendAndLoad.
Hi Thanks again I have tried that but it is not the solution.
I have tried using "GET" and I can see the variables in the querystring but when I use the POST method they are not captured by the "Request.Form("fname") in the asp page
OK if they're arriving with the 'GET' method, then I presume its something on the asp side that's not working (obviously in your case something that differs a little from how it works with your html form submission test).
Like I said I don't know asp ... so let's hope someone who does can answer your question.... and good luck!
I just remembered also.... it doesn't look like its the case here (because your url is not using localhost)... but just in case you're doing this with test movie inside flash authoring:
The Flash test environment always uses the GET method. To test using the POST method, be sure you are attempting to use it from within a browser.
Did anyone fix this. I had a similar problem with PHP. I'm pretty comfortable with PHP coding and I know my code works via testing with HTML form. Infact, my flash form works fine except with ie6. With IE6 no variables get sent/received.
