Have you seen the following Adobe document and its section on Set Field Options for Imported Interlaced Video
I would look first to consider the export settings for your intention of 1080i50 to 1080p29.97 or 1080i50 to 720p25.
However, for interlaced video, I would give the TV player's deinterlacing method a chance to deal with 1080i to 1080p.
Please review and consider and then we can weigh the pros and cons related to your video purposes and actual results.
Thank you for your reply!
The provided resource was very informative!
I think that I will export my 1080i50 footage-based-projects as 1080i50 movie, and when needed I will deinterlace the movie with another tool.
Thanks for the follow up. Glad the information was of interest to you and applicable to your video editing.
Any chance of you recording progressive video in the future or is recording interlaced video proving to your advantage?
Well, my camcorder (Canon Legria HF R16) shoots at 1080i50 (it also has a PF25 mode for shooting 1080p25 and storing it as 1080i50 but I have yet to try this in depth...)
