I am a freelance photo retoucher, using Lightroom 5 on a Mac. I want to use Smart Previews - the idea is that my client will send me a Smart Previews catalogue of images for retouching, and once the work's been done, I'll send it back to him to apply my edits.
I'm trying to import the catalogue file into my Lightroom to perform the edits but when I extract his compressed file it separates each image into its own folder (named '2', '5', 'E' for example). Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I need all images in one folder for an easy import.
Thanks in advance!
anyone?! It's the Smart Previews.lrdata folder that splits each file into a subfolder...
You don't import the smart previews to your catalog. Your client needs to provide you with a catalog (.lrcat file) as well as the smart previews that are associated with that catalog. You open that catalog and do your work. Then you Return both files to the client.
