I'm working in an InDesign book file, and every time I "Update Page & Section Numbers," several files are negatively affected by this update: the text frames on every page of the documents in question (not all documents in book file are affected) have shifted and are no longer in their correct placement between the margins.
I cannot tell what is causing this, and any guidance would be greatly appreciated! It is very tedious to have to align each box back to the margins each time...
I bet the pages changed from odd to even numbers, and vice versa.
Thank you for the input, P Spier! I agree with your hypothesis, but: why would that make the frames bounce off their margins in only some documents, and not all? is this a setting in the book file, or the master pages, or somewhere else entirely? any way to avoid this?
Page "handedness" is determined by the page number, so if the number goes from odd to even, or vice versa, the page will swap sides, and the other half of a two-page master will be applied. Overridden text frames, or frames not onthe master page, would not move with the margins unless they are snapped to guides and Layout Adjustment is enabled before the change occurs.
