I have a 30 minute clip that I would like to use to create some special effects in After Effects. I only want to use several small pieces (10 or 15 frames) of the clip in After Effects. I can't figure out an easy way to find and edit the 15 frames in the 30 minute movie inside After Effects. How do I go about identifying the clips/ frames I want to use in After Effects.
Do that kind of work in Premiere. Then export the short clip for use in AE.
Export a high-quality file like a Quicktime Movie in the ProRes 422, DNxHD, PNG, Photo JPEG or Animation codecs. Forget the mp4's and h.264's. They stink for AE use.
Dave LaRonde I finally decide this must be the correct process. So I cut the frames I wanted out in Premeir and exported them as Un compressed AVI. Do you think this is the best way? I will pull them into AE to create the Effects I want. A little frustrating but I figured it out
Uncompressed AVI's have HUGE file sizes. The Quicktimes I mentioned retain the image quality, but at a much smaller file size.
