I'm not really sure when this stopped working, but you used to be able to paste editable paths from Illustrator or Photoshop into Indesign.
However, a couple of verisions ago, this stopped working.
The rsult is now that the art will be embedded in the Indesign document w/o any way to edit it.
I find this annoying since I found it quite useful to be able to use vectors as masks och to simply recolor symbols and logos directly in Indesign.
Is there a workaround or can we please have a similar option, like Photoshop, to choose what (paths, shape, smart obj, pixels) to paste?
Look into preferences in ID in Clipboard Handling
In Illustrator prefereces > File Handling & Clipbord > Activate AICB
Fantastic, I thought I'd tried that. Correct preferences in Indesign was to uncheck preffer PDF when pasting under clipboard (roughly translated from my swedish version of Indesign).
