premiere 9 import DVD on macOS

    dbharrington

      Hi,

I am having a problem importing a DVD using Premiere 9 on MacOS 10.9.5.

All I get is a pinwheel when I select "get media".

The disk is a DVD-R. File format is .VOB.

Content is unprotected (converted from VCR tapes of family videos).

I find I can import the same DVD successfully on a PC version of Premiere 9.

      Is this a known problem?

Do I have a bad installation?

A config value I need to set properly?

      Thanks,

I am strictly an Elements Windows user. But, until a genuine Premiere Elements Mac user enters your thread, please check out the following

which I have been able to put together from what I have read

          https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/using/adding-media-premiere-elements.html

As you already know, the Windows route would be

          Add Media

          DVD camera or computer drive

          Video Importer

The hang up with the Mac counterpart appears to be that Video Importer on the Mac side of things does not list DVD drives. And, the recommendation

seems to be to use "internal superdrive" instead. Do you still have "internal superdrive" or has it been "refreshed out"

by Apple in your specific Mac computer?

Let us start here and then decide what next.

          Thank you.
