    Flex & ActionScript Libraries?

      Hi all,

My company currently has an interface to some proprietary hardware that we run through an ActiveX control via a Webbrowser. It's highly graphical, and communicates with the hardware via a TCP/IP socket via proprietary binary protocol. I was considering trying to get this over to Flex 2, so any platform that can run Flash 9 can run it, rather than currently being locked to Windows and IE only.

I was most pleased to see that ActionScript 3 lets you open a generic binary socket!

Is it possible to build a library that programmers can interface to via calls, but not have the source code to?
