    Jaggy Playback with small JPEG

    Kawasaki700
      I have a 72dpi, 55k jpeg on the stage. 8 1/2 x 11. My movie is 640 x 480. I move the jpeg image so it scrolls within the movie frame with just 2 keyframes. It plays back really choppy, even when I publish the executable. Help! Thanks

          So that'll be 612x792 pixels, then? We need to know pixel sizes rather than
          dpi and (I'm guessing, 'cos you forgot to type it) inches. Director should
          be fully capable of moving an image that size smoothly.

          What control method are you using to move the image? E.g. keyboard,
          scroll-bar...?

          Have you set the tempo of the movie to something like 30fps?

          To move the image with the arrow keys, you could use this behaviour attached
          to the image's sprite:-

          -----------------------------------------------------
          property spriteNum, self, speed

          on enterFrame
          LR=keyPressed(124)-keyPressed(123)
          UD=keyPressed(125)-keyPressed(126)
          self.loc=self.loc+point(LR, UD)*speed
          end enterFrame

          on beginSprite
          self=sprite(spriteNum)
          speed=2
          end beginSprite
          -----------------------------------------------------
