Can anyone help me? I can't install the Flash update on my Mac OSX. I keep getting the error message "Installation failed. Not enough permissions to write to disk." When I click "Try again" I get a screen that says "Connecting" but the percentage complete stays at 0% and nothing happens.
I've uninstalled Flash and tried to do a clean install and nothing works.
Please help - this is marked as "Correct answer" but other than moving my question to a different forum, no one has actually answered.
So, either you're attempting to install Flash Player from an account that does not have administrative permissions (unless this is your work machine, this would be abnormal), or some of the permissions on the filesystem are messed up.
I'd recommend starting with the Disk First Aid section here:
While you're there, also run Repair Filesystem Permissions (Verify will often times return a clean bill of health, and then Repair will still fix a bunch of stuff).
Once that's done, please delete the installers you've downloaded, and pick up a fresh copy, here:
If it continues to fail, it would be helpful to get your installation logs:
I'm also having this problem and its really frustrating seeing as I can't access a lot of content on Safari.
I have verified and repaired disk permissions in Disk Utility and uninstalled Flash completely, but still get the same "Installation failed. Not enough permissions to write to disk," message. Please help. Thanks.
Seems to have worked, but if I have any problems I'll let you know. Thanks for your help.
