Cannot get flash to install

download, click install, answer questions (about letting adobe do updates, starts to install, gets to 66% and says it is finished, message come up saying didn't install correctly, sends to one of two (duplicate) pages...go thru steps, says no flash installed, yes it is enabled, yes, i checked to be sure it gets thru security.
