Unwanted frame break & infinite white space

I've got a string of 197 characters that I want to display in a single text box (and can't have spaces between them, because the typeface I plan to ultimately use has a character assigned to space that I don't want appearing between all the other characters). All the content should fit, but once it gets past a certain size (around 11pt), InDesign forces some sort of break, pushing 80 characters into "overset" text... which does not appear in any text boxes I thread it to, but instead still registers as "overset," so it seems like InDesign is creating infinite white space.

I've played around with all the keep options, I've tried hyphenation, I've ticked and unticked "unbreak," I've tried using GREP to find hidden hidden line/frame/column breaks — nothing.

Here's the entire string of text, visible at 28pt:

and then disappearing at 29pt, though there's still room in the text box for the remaining characters:

Am I missing something? Or is this just not possible? Thanks!
