Yes you can download and purchase LR 5 without the Creative Cloud, but to be perfectly honest, you have to fix whatever the problem is, its unlikely that merely upgrading to LR 5 will make a difference.
How can you fix the problem? Well, I don't know, you didn't give us any details. Can you describe the problem and what happens or doesn't happen? What is the error message, word-for-word, verbatim?
Hi, thanks for that. Weirdly, I updated my OS X and it now appears to be importing fine, and showing no error messages. Before the image were just not showing anything and didn't even show an error message. I thought it may have been a problem with my compact flash card, but it works now. If I wanted to upgrade to lightroom 5, can I do that anyway without subscribing monthly to creative cloud? if so where do I find a link for an upgrade.
