If you want to record usage there are several approaches. Every time the user does something you want to record, fire off an update to an external database. If you only want to store the last thing a user has done and make it persistent, use the SharedObject to record the current application state.
Thanks for the answer. My goal is effectively to store in a database the visitors activity (each time a strategic object have been clicked) in order to generate statistics based on visited sections, visited products etc.
In that case you have to set up appropriate state variable representing the things you want to track, then pass them to your db using any of the available communication services available. Personally I'M using CF with RemoteObjects and writing the necessary CFC functions to handle the data updates. I also use the SharedObject to capture state in case the user happens to hit 'refresh' or 'back' in their browser.
