If you are able to Launch LR you can locate your product serial number from the menu:
Help >> System Info
Otherwise if you originally registered your product the serial number will be stored in your Adobe account. Click the red logo (top left on this web page) sign-in, and then click the Manage Account button. It should be possible to browse your purchase history. You are looking for a 24 digit number commencing 1160.
Thank you for your reply. I do actually have my original box and CD with the software and the serial number on the box. I think the problem is that I have installed the software already on two systems, and that the one system has crashed and the disk is rendered useless. I have now a new laptop, have downloaded a trial version of LR on it. I want to add the serial number from my original purchase to the trial version now installed on my laptop to avoid it from expiring soon.
On the trial welcome page there should be a button "License this Software"
If you click on it, it should be possible to enter your serial number.
I dit, it does not accept it as a valid serial number. How can I indicate that the software installed on my ex-laptop is no longer in use to 'release' the license ?
Which version is the disk?
Which version did you download?
Version 5 on disk.
Version 5 downloaded (5.7.1).
Is the disk for the full version of LR5 or an upgrade version. If it's an upgrade you would usually be required to also enter the serial number of your previous version e.g. LR4 or LR3 etc.
Are you seeing an error message?
Error message : "The serial number you entered is invalid. Please try again. If the problem persists, please contact 'Customer Support'."
