    Audio track

    Sue Leonard

I am having a problem with importing .mp4 files into Premiere Elements 11 which were made in iMovie.  When I drag the .mp4 files onto the timeline in Premiere Elements 11, the audio track seems to compress and does not coincide with the video track.  When I play the original mp4 file from Finder, it plays fine.  The audio is in sync with the video.  Any suggestions as to how to solve this?

MP4 is a wrapper, what is inside YOUR wrapper - Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?

Codec & Format information, with 2 links inside for you to read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1270588

Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing

Does your video use a VARIABLE Frame Rate or a Constant Frame Rate?

If you exported your video file (.mp4) from iMovie, I would expect that your frame rate is constant and not variable. And, from what I have

read, iMovie has problems with imports that have variable frame rate. So import or export iMovie, I see this factor as a non issue for Premiere Elements in this case.

            • What were the detailed iMovie export settings that you used for this export?
            • Do you have control over the video and audio bitrate settings in the iMovie export settings. Did you use default or customized export settings?
            • What is the video bitrate and audio bitrate for your iMovie export that you are taking into Premiere Elements with the duration of the video differing from that of the audio?
