      How to in fireworks or use CSS?? Can someone give me a clue how to do this properly or lead me to a tutorial.

          I guess there is no 'proper' way to do this. It all depends what you are
          after.
          If you want to add text to an image in Fireworks you start by using the
          Text Tool, select font, color, size and start typing. After that there
          is a myriad of things you can do to the text to change its appearance.

          If the image is a background on a web page then you can overlay text
          over it and use CSS to control the text.

          It would be easier to stir you in the right direction if we had more
          info on what you would like to do. Do you have any sites that could be
          used to illustrate what you have in mind?

            Hi Alex,
            For example we would like to have a photo of the sky and clouds as a banner at the top of the page, small picture of a bldg on one end and the name and address of the company elsewhere on the pic. I'll try the text tool thing and get a feel fir it.
