Did you get this working? I am also facing same issue. ADOBE - Kindly help.
Yes after lots of trouble i got it working. The problem is that the Tag librarys are incomplete. I downloaded a JSP tag library from adobelabs and added the contents to the tag libray that FDS provided. Now every class that was needed to compile the MXML code was available
Dear Afzuigkap, can you please show changes you made?
Here is the panacea:
Download the latest tag library available from
Follow the installation instructions. Its unfortunate that the default installation doesn't come with correct tag library files. Infact, I wasted almost a week to get the correct taglib.
I have this same null pointer exception; however, i have a strange situation:
When i inline my mxml, the application works. when i try to reference an external mxml, it throws this null pointer. I obviously have all the taglibs in the correct place b/c the inline works. why wont the external reference work? Any guidance would be most appreciated.
Sounds funny but its true:
To include store.mxml use
Don't use <mm:mxml source="store.mxml" />
It can't be anything else than a BUG in FLEX, unless someone can justify it.
Thank you for replying. However, that did not fix my problem. i still have the same Null Pointer Exception. is there anything else that i could be missing from my project? I find it very odd that the inline works, but a source reference does not
Just wondering if you have solved the nullpointerexception? I have the same issue and trying to find some solution.
nope, still stuck :(
Even Inline mxml is not working for me :( Am getting null pointer for both. Do you have any suggestion on this?
Am using apache tomcat 6.0 version and moved all of the FDS libs and flex/jars to tomcat's WEB-INF folder.
unfortunately i am kind of at a loss. I have no idea what is causing this error, and i wouldn't even know where to begin making suggestions to help. I apologize, i wish i could figure this out.
I am also getting this error
Unable to initialize TldLocationsCache: null
I have the tag lib downloaded and installed according to the readme.
The inline is not working for me.
