Variable quality images

I'm inserting bitmaps into a Word 2003 document via the Ctrl + G Robohelp command, then compiling. The bitmaps are compiling as variable quality, despite being originally saved as 'high quality' images. The problem is independent of file size as sometime quite small screenshots come out poor quality, while larger ones are OK.

To describe the effect - the images begome very grainy and lose some of their definition.

One thought - I'm compiling in WSYIWYG mode - would I do better to convert to True Code before compiling?

I've just posted to the 'images very fuzzy' thread on this subject, if any use to you...
