Welcome to the forum.
If you are importing an HTML file, it will become a single topic in the RH project with all the headings of differeing levels that are in it. In other words, it will not change.
I think you are confusing the import of an HTML file which imports as it is with the import of a Word document where you have the option to split the document into different HTML files according the heading levels you define.
Create a test project and import a file.
Sorry, what I meant was the order of topics in the topic list and TOC, not the order of the topics within the html file.
When I generate a TOC, it's just a flat list of topics in the wrong order. I need the import process to take into account the
structure of the html document.
One HTML file equals one topic. Import ten files and you have ten topics. In the topic list they will be in the order of the column you click on in the Topics tab. In the TOC you have to arrange them or use auto create which reflects the folder structure in your project.
Are you expecting your imported file to be split by RH on import? Perhaps you could have another go at explaining things.
So if I import the html files arranged in a set of subfolders, the toc will be constructed with multiple levels that replicate the hierarchy of the subfolders?
That sounds right. Import just some of your files and try it before you complete.
