If I remember correctly after so many years, you can install just the components you want/need.
If you're running Win7 or newer, then the chances are you are wasting your time.
If you're using WinXP or earlier, see here: PageMaker 7 Export… Adobe PDF…

Thnx so much. I am using windows 7. I have pagemaker since the 80's and spent lots of $$ upgrading. It stinks that they stop supporting it.

The last version of PM was July 2001, all development stopped in 2004 and all support ceased in August 2010.
After InDesign (Pagemaker 8?) came on stream in around 2000, there were several years of heavily discounted upgrades for PM users.
So it's not as if it's just happened.
They never intended to keep it going long term when they acquired it. When they bought it, Aldus had already started development on InDesign.
That’s what Adobe really wanted.
