We are using CSS 6 for our yearbook. Starting today pages are giving message that we are missing a bunch of plug-ins so files can't open. We are 2 weeks from printer deadline so thia has to get fixed fast. We didn't update anything with the program. We can't go to the Cloud; need to finish this in CSS 6. 1) Why is this happening? 2) Can I download the missing plug-ins and how can I do that?
What is the EXACT error message?
I'm just guessing - in order to give you something better than a guess, you'd need to answer Peter's question and provide the precise wording of the error message. But:
1) This is probably happening because somebody worked on the file using CC.
2) Nope. If the missing-plugins error message is the one I think it is, all you can do is open the file up in CC and export IDML, which can then be opened and re-saved in CS6.
Other remotely possible causes include:
1) You're trying to open up a CS6 file in CS5 (maybe you had both installed on the same machine and then someone-mysterious-who-is-not-you uninstalled CS6 but miraculously didn't damage CS5 in doing so)
2) Someone (-mysterious-who-is-not-you) opened the file and re-saved using a bunch of 3rd party plugins
3) Uhh... that's all I got.
