Did you download the updated CC app manager from here?
Try repairing the disk permissions. Check to see if there are any errors during the install

You can use the Adobe Clean tool to remove the software if you need to reinstall.

I did download the app manager from that link. I repaired the disk permissions, but I'm not sure how to check for errors?
Anyhow, I used the cleaner tool to remove the software before trying to re-install. But, unfortunately the same thing happened about halfway through - the window simply disappears. The screenshot I took was maybe 10 seconds before the symptom happens.
