You are using the stand-alone version of Lightroom, that's why it tells you it is in trial mode. You need to uninstall Lightroom, and then install Lightroom from the Creative Cloud app.
Thanks for the answer. I have uninstalled. However, In Creative Cloud it still says that the app is in trial mode. Where do I download the programme to avoid this? Many thanks.
I am not able to find an active subscription on this Adobe ID of yours. May I know from where did you purchase it and when? Also, if you have a Proof Of Purchase(POP)?
If so, I would suggest you to Contact Customer Care and choose the option that best describe your issue and then click on Still Need Help! Contact Us.
I have contacted them, but so far no response. This is highly frustrating, please can you help?

Hi, any chance of a response to any of this?
Seems like you are using a perpetual version of Adobe Lightroom 5.
Please uninstall the version you have and download using the below link.
Use the same serial number.
* Please note never post your serial number on Adobe Forums as this is a user to user forum and not Adobe Technical support you are posting to. I will be removing your serial no. from your post.
Thank you for posting on Adobe Forums.
I have tried doing this twice. When I run the newly installed software I get initially an error code of "5". The software then runs, but the development side is Deactivated as there still is no subscirption. It has not asked me for the serial number. Please help, this is very frustrating.
Hi, any chance of a response to this? I am making progress at glacial speed......
Matt can you clear some points please.
You have a subscription on the Photographers plan with Photoshop CC or the whole CC pacakage?
You have purchased Lightroom 5 perpetual license?
If you have a subscription it won't ask for a serial number, it is tied to your Adobe ID.
If you have the perpetual version you will be asked for a serial number.
Hi Geoff; this is the product I purchased;
I will get the other info when I get back in front of my daughters computer later.
Ok, it seems that what you have is the CC version when you want the perpetual one.
So you need to uninstall (windows) or trash (mac) the app that is currently installed and download the one you need from the Lightroom 5.7.1 link on this page... you will be asked for the serial number.
I hope that sorts you out!!
I have unistalled (AGAIN!!) and followed the link. Reinstalled. Same error ("5") and also modules are all disabled. No request for serial number. Is there something I need to do extra to get rid of the old version?

Matt, you are still downloading the Creative Cloud licensed app - see line 3 of your system info above.
The link I posted takes you here and this is the one you need... for windows....
So uninstall (I'm not sure of the procedure on Windows) and reinstall from the link in "this is the one" above...
Geoff I have definitely unistalled, restarted, used your link. But the connection to the CC licence remains. I need to get rid of this somehow.
I really don't know about uninstalling on Windows..... but you still have the Creative Cloud version according to the System Info you posted, second row - License Type: Creative Cloud. Mine is perpetual.....
The download here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5857 is for the Perpetual license download.....
By the way you do not have a subscription.... you have a perpetual license serial number.. Perhaps that is confusing people all round.
I have discovered the solution (well partly anyway) through Adobe chat. This was a mixed experience, but in the end it has worked. I uninstalled the program again, then created a new Windows user account with admin privileges, logged into this account and then installed the software under this new account. The only problem is, I can only open the software in this account, or I get the same issues as before, ie disabled features. Sigh. Anyhow, it does work in a slightly irritating manner. Thanks for your help.
