I am curious to know if there is any sort of set release schedule for Flash Player updates. I am part of a team that has to verify software installations for online testing for the State of Texas (K-12) and our requirements state that we must use the 'latest Flash version'. The problem with that is, we have no idea if a Flash Player version is going to be released the day of testing and cause an interruption in testing due to Internet Explorer prompting for an update due to an outdated flash version. Testing interruptions are not a good thing when it comes to state testing..
Any insight on if there's a way to know ahead of time of an update would be appreciated.
Flash Player is generally released on the second Tuesday of the month. This blog post, An outline of Flash Runtime installation options, provides more information on the release cadence, various installation options, and the Flash Player beta program. For release notifications, please see Security Bulletins and Advisories for information on registering to receive notifications.
Since it's not desirable to have test takers interrupted with a notification to update Flash Player, I encourage you to review the Flash Player Administrator's Guide for the various deployment options available. I'll be happy to answer questions you have on the various deployment options available, including options to install Flash Player at a more convenient time or in a less disruption manner.
