I made an AE comp with various text layers in a simple 3D space so I could have the camera push in on one text layer, then turn/spin to another, etc. Kind of a cliché, I know.
Anyway, it all worked fine with the camera, the background, the text layers hanging in space at different angles, etc. I selected the text in each text layer and changed the color from black to red. But when I added a spot light, the text was black again, not red. No matter how I moved the spot light around, I couldn't seem to get the text layer to stay red. I know there's a reason for this, but I'm not sure what it is, or how to achieve the effect I want. Thanks in advance!
The reason is that the light is not shining on the text.
1. Point the light at the text
2. Add a new light and shine it on the text
3. Twirl down the properties for the text layer and set it to not be affected by comp lights.
