This issue has been triaged and is being held in highest priority for a fix in the next release.
In the meantime, you may be able to re-author your form to workaround the issue in the short term.

Hope this helps,
I have been through the Forum and looked at mu=y forms.
None of the drop downs on my forms have the “Commit selected value immediately” selected ON.
Is there another work around available?
Would you share your PDF form with us so that we can diagnose the cause of the problem?
I have sent you email with the instructions on how to share your PDF form privately.
If you do not mind sharing your PDF form in this public user forum, you can provide the link to a shared file in your next reply.
The specified item was not found.
Thank you for your help.
We received your PDF form in email.
We will investigate the problem with the PDF form and let you know what we find.
The supported APIs are listed as Classes in the left pane.
Has the iOS version on your iPad updated from iOS 8.2 to 8.3 recently?
We are investigating Forms issues related to the iOS update. We will keep you posted on a fix.
The forms were used with IOS 8.2 and less with Adobe Reader without any problems being experienced.
With IOS 8.2 and the update to Acrobat Reader the form functionality was not correct.
I have not tried the form with IOS 8.3
Would you explain what you mean by "drop down menus do not work correctly"? We are not familiar with the particular PDF form. We are trying to reproduce the problem at our end so that we can fix the problem.
Would you provide the complete steps to reproduce the problem? Which drop down menu do you tap?
What happens when you perform the steps in Acrobat DC (the latest version)?
What happened when you performed the steps in Adobe Reader (the older version)?
Thank you for your help.
On the form provided to you by email for assessment there are numerous dropdown fields these are names as:
On Page 1 of the form they are Crew Status, Course Info, Session Info, Fleet and Simulator and Competence
These dropdown fields provide selections for the respondent to select from when completing the form.
When the form is open in Acrobat DC on iPad all the dropdown fields do not show or allow one to select from the the options that should be available in the dropdown. (If we open the forms using Acrobat DC on an iPhone we have full functionality on the form)
This problem did not happen with the old Adobe Reader and all its content worked as it should.
In the latest version of Acrobat DC the problem persists and we are unable to see or select the options continued within each drop down menu when it is selected.
I hope this helps.
We used the form that you have provided for us in our testing.
Here are the steps that were used to fill out the form:
1. Open the form in Acrobat DC on iPad.
3. tap on "Crew Status" drop down box. RESULT: Acrobat shows the pop up with list of choices, as expected.
4. select an item from the pop up: RESULT: the pop up is closed, the field shows the selected Item, as expected.
5. tap on "Course Info." drop down field: RSULT: Acrobat shows the pop up with list of choices, as expected.
6. and so on.
Thus we had no problems to open a pop up for each drop down field and select a new option from the list on your provided form.
Please let us know if your steps are different when you fill out the form. What is a result for each step? what is an expected result for each step?
Please exit, and re-start your Acrobat DC before you fill out your form: double press "Home" button of your iPad. swipe up on Acrobat DC preview to exit the app. press "Home" button of your iPad to display Home screen of the device. Tap Acrobat DC icon to run the app.
thank you for your patience.
Acrobat DC mobile team.
Firstly I would like to thank you for your assistance in getting this problem sorted out.
When opening the forms we follow the exact same process as you indicate below.
When selecting the first and subsequent dropdown the field highlights itself but the options do not appear.
When selecting a drop down the “Select Option” default text scrambles - (it looks as though the dropdown options all appear in the box at the same time) - but once this happens the default text is again clearly visible but no dropdown options can be selected.
I hace attached another 2 documents for you to look at.
The first one named SAA Test 1 - was created using Form Central and exported as a pdf. On this document the standard text field work but the drop-downs don’t even appear as drop downs when opened in Acrobat DC. When a dropdown is selected it highlights as if it were a text field but no keypad appears to allow typing into the field.
The second document named SAA Test 2 - was created using Acrobat X1 PRO.
we got your two test documents. Thank you.
1. Indeed SAA Test1 form doesn't draw a proper appearance for dropdown form fields. Adobe Reader 11.6.4 shows the same issue for that particular document. We will investigate the issue. Still they will show a list of choices when tap on them.
2. A dropdown list have to be created with an option "Allow user to enter custom text" in order to be able to type on the field (and show the keyboard when is tapped). No dropdown list was created with this option in SAA Test1.
3. Please confirm that you Exit, and re-launch Acrobat DC before you try to fill-in SAA Test1, and SAA Test2 forms. The problem is that if previously you used a dropdown field that had "commit on select" option in the same session of Acrobat DC, then no consecutive dropdown list will work until you force exit, and re-launch Acrobat DC.
4. In our test Acrobat DC on iPad shows ALL dropdown field pop-ups in both your forms after the re-start of the app.
Please let us know if it helps.
I think I know what is the problem that you try to resolve:
1. tap on a middle (or on any part but not the dropdown arrow) of a dropdown list - Acrobat DC shows the choice list pop up, the field is active.
2. make a selection - Acrobat DC shows the new selection on the field, the field is active
3. tap again on a middle (or on any part but not the dropdown arrow) of a dropdown list - Acrobat DC does NOT show the choice list pop up.
SOLUTION: 1. tap out to commit the selected value, tap in again - the list of choices is displayed. OR 2. each time try to tap on the dropdown arrow to redisplay the list of choices for an active dropdown field.
Note that Adobe Reader 11.6.4 behaves the same way.
Regarding a keyboard display: Acrobat DC will show the keyboard on a dropdown list tap, if previously you used a text field to type in some text.
Regarding the dropdown lists appearance in SAA Test1: Desktop Acrobat might be able to repair the appearance. Open the document in Acrobat. Edit a form field properties, e.g. change a border color of a field. Save the changed document. Open it on your mobile device. Does it show the correct appearance?
Let us know if it was helpful.
I have completed all your suggestions and am still having problems with both test forms that I sent you for evaluation.
ON SAA Test 1 - after making the change in the field border the drop down fields could be seen and selected, however as soon as you make the first selection of a dropdown option and it is entered into the field all subsequent selections on any other dropdown are no longer work. If you now shut down Acrobat DC - start - then the next dropdown selection can be made - once made no others work again - shut down - start up - make another skeleton and so on.
On SAA Test 2 - the suggestions provided were followed and the dropdown could be seen and options selected. However it gets to a point were the dropdown options are no longer seen or selectable as with SAA test 1. If you now follow the same shutdown and restart sequence you can continue completing the form in dropdown at a time before having to shutdown and restart.
I have sent your instructions out to 36 other users of the form with our company and all are experiencing the same problem when using the forms on iPad in Acrobat DC.
Can you please consider re-introducing Adobe Reader for iPad until such time as all these gremlins are sorted out.
Our ability to complete what work needs to be done within the company is being compromised and re-introducing the previous Adobe Reader for iPad will allow us to continue with our work.
The latest Acrobat DC update contains a fix for a drop down pop up issue. Please Update your Acrobat DC to the newest version, and let us know if the problem was fixed.
thank you for your patience.
I have tested all the documents that we are using and it does seem as if the problem has been resolved with the latest update to Acrobat DC.
Thanks for the assistance, much appreciated.
