Check out Parse.com. I have a simple tutorial (part 1) to implement
parse.com in EA and will have part 2 in the future. I think that would be a
good way to implement what you want.
Of course you can also use php.

Hi, thanks for the input, but I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing?
I'm talking about somebody running an app on their iphone, something like a tarot card reading, and when they run the program, they are able to save the result to their iphone's memory if they want, for opening in the app and reviewing later, so they haven't lost that particular result.
The app to be built in edge animate and ported through PhoneGap Build to ios app store.
How do I code the 'Save your result' part of the app while building it in edge animate?
I am not sure you would be able to save to the phone itself. Usually things are saved to the cloud so that it is not lost. This is why I use parse.com
Otherwise here is an interesting article:
I think I have found the answers I'm after where you can save progress states on iphones locally.
Here are some resources I have found on it, I will now be looking into it more closely to see if I can get my head around it :-)
NSUserDefaults or Core Data
PhoneGap and HTML5SQL.JS
