When you uninstall any iOS app (not just Acrobat DC), iOS (the operating system) will erase all of the data (including PDF documents and preferences) that are associated with the app.
I am so sorry...but if you have not backed up your documents before uninstalling the app, you will not be able to get them back.
I'd highly recommend backing up your documents on a regular basis to prevent accidental data loss.
Please take a look at the FAQ document below.

thanks a lot for your reply. Great information, at home recently i did a backup for the ipad, when i'm back from holidays i will restore it. Currently i stay for vacations in Thailand.
One more question came to me too, that was the reason why i deleted Acrobat dc:
i found no possibility how to search for documents. i thought maybe that's an error which will get fixed by deleting and re-installing the Acrobat reader.
isn't there any way to search for documents? not a search within documents?
You want to know how to search for documents - Is it because Acrobat DC for iOS did not show all of the documents that you thought you had?
I suspect that you were initially looking at the Recent section. Your can switch to Local (for the files & folders stored on your iPad/iPhone) or Document Cloud (for the files & folders stored in the Adobe Document Cloud, formerly Acrobat.com) to find your files.
Please take a look at the "Selecting a file location" section in the following document.
However, because you uninstalled Acrobat DC, iOS had erased all of your local files. Your Local section will show only one file, Getting Started.pdf, after reinstalling the app.
Once you restore the full backup on your iPad, you will get your documents back.
Sorry for the inconvenience that may have caused.
Thanks for your reply, but no, absolutely wrong! I wanted to search because I have more than 1GB of PDF documents on my iPad.
You only can select Recent, Local, Cloud. Then your search possibilities are gone, no more selection is possible? To me that's clearly a bug, not a feature.
Can you understand the problem? In this version of the software, it doesn't exist the essential function of SEARCH a PDF!!!
Didn't the Software Developers notice already that this function is missing?
I have this on a phone and I cant switch my search to local
You need to switch the file location to Local first and do the search.
Please see the "Selecting a file location" section of the following document.
The document contains the screenshots for iPhone as well.
Hope this helps.
