This was a problem with the 1.5 tree. I guess it is not solved with the 2.0 version, sigh. I think it is going to take a third party to make this work correctly.
u mean to tell me that Flex will have to do an update to get the tree to work correctly to be able to drop a node inside of another node
Now, I haven't worked with the dragDrop in a tree in 2.0 yet, so I am only theorizing. But I know that if there were no children on a node, it was very difficult / impossible to drag a child onto it in 1.5. I had to programatically add a child first, then I could drag more children into the node.
Tree is just a component and the source is available. So anyone can dig into the problem and fix whatever. But it might not be easy.
Again, I haven't verified this in 2.0.
Post a simple, runnable, sample app. I'll try to take a look.
<mx:Application xmlns:mx=" http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" width="700" height="250" borderStyle="solid">
<root label="Default Node">
<mx:Tree id="MyTree" height="200" width="200" showRoot="true" labelField="@label"
This is a simple version... Can you post the actual mxml version on here? and if you can how do you do it?
"Can you post the actual mxml version on here" I don't understand that question, you just did post the actual mxml. Do you mean and retain the formatting? Or include as an attachment? Then no, not currently, but they are working on it.
I'll take a look at this example in a while.
Yeah... I meant attach the .mxml file as an attachment... Sorry for the confusion.
Hey Tracy..... have you looked into this at all... is this possible?
