The photos don’t go anywhere they are still on the disk where they were, before, but Remove tells LR to forget what it knew about them, so the issue is you have no way to know which ones they were using LR.
Are all these photos you removed instead of deleted in one folder or are they scattered across many folders, and if one folder, are there any other photos in that folder that aren’t in LR that you want to keep? Depending on your answers there may be a way to put them back into LR and use that fact to delete them.
They are scattered across a few folders. Quite a few are in one specific folder.
My issue is I can't locate them. I just want to get rid of them to save space and future confusion.
If you could me a tip assuming they are in just one folder, that would help me today and in the future.
In the Library Module, right click on a folder in the folders panel > select Synchronize. If there are any photos in that folder that LR is not aware of you will get the following dialog:
Check "Import new photos" and "show import dialog before importing". click Synchronize and you will see a list of the new (or old photos previously removed from LR). Do not import if you don't want them, but make note of their names, then use finder to locate them and delete them.
If they are in one folder... you could Synchronise that folder and import the unwanted images then go to the Previous Import collection, select all go back to the folder (they should all still be selected) and delete.
Thanks Geoff- very helpful
