You didn't say what version of Lightroom you have. It started with 5.0 and is now up to 5.7.
There is a chart supplied by Adobe that explain your RAW dilemma. This one tells you what your camera needs: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
In your case, the OMD EM-10 needs Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 8.5 or Lightroom 5.5. (Congratulations on buying a new camera!)
To bring Lightroom to that level, look for "Check for Updates" on the Help menu.

thanks! LR 5.7 did the trick and the 'ORFs' are no longer orphans.
Mark you question as solved if it is. This helps others finding open question that still need help and find solutions to similar questions.
problem solved. Upgraded to (current) LR version 5.7 which supports processing the Olympus OMD EM-10 ORF files.
