install CC on pc with master collection?

Can I install the CC on the same windows machine that already has Adobe Master collection CS5.5?

Yes, you can install CS5.5 along with CC.

Thanks for the quick response, Atul. I have tried to install a package

that only contains Photoshop. During installation I am warned to close

the HP Accelerometer, which I can't seem to stop. I proceed, since the

warning also infers that a restart may be necessary if I do not shut down

the HP Accelerometer, which is a drive protection apparatus (physical drive

protector). there is no confirmation that the application has installed,

but the installer seems to finish. when I restart, I can't find the

application. So I checked the logs as advised by one of the Adobe

troubleshooting pages. In the appropriate folder I cannot find any

compressed log files, and the uncompressed ones open, but I only see what

looks like machine code, perhaps.

Can you shed any light on my installation problem?

Hi John,

If you are not able to see Photoshop in programs and Feature list in contrlo panel, try CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed.
