I am writing a print catalog at the moment with about 150 products using Indesign. I need to create different versions of the catalog, some with language changes, some with less products (it would mean removing some pages). I would like to use a "master" document to build the catalog so that any changes in the future could be made to all versions at the same time. I've entered all of the data / pictures with a data-merge where each version of the catalog is a record. Is this the best way to do this? Is it possible for data-merge to disable / remove certain pages in the merged documents?
Conditional Text could take care of your language changes.
You might need a more robust database publishing plugin or system. Have you looked at 3rd party database merge products?
Specifically, no, Data Merge cannot disable/remove certain pages in the merged documents.
