I love the ruler and shape tools, and I like the new project management features. But I think they should re-think UI. They buried many important functions at the layer level. It makes it too labor-intensive to do simple stuff, like rotate your image, merge layers, etc. They should bring back the top level menu for the entire layer palette instead of repeating and hiding it on each level. And I'm all for streamlining, but there's no reason not to have the rotate, color dropper, and undo tools on the side bar menu, as in ideas. There's plenty of real estate.
Also I hate not being able to change the orientation of my screen. Now its looked into landscape mode. I miss being able to draw in portrait mode.
i couldn't agree better. And I liked the old file overlook, where you could plenty at ones. No you have to do a lot of awiping, and when you use these products for Por use, swiping is a carbo tunnel waiting to happen. I'm already battleling two trigger thumbs from all these i devices
So, you can use the pinch gesture to get an overview of all the projects, in case you missed that.
Also, If you get yourself a bluetooth stylus, you can use the stylus button to undo instead of the 2 finger swipe.
i did miss the pinch thing. thank you!
you are not alone.
i Don't have the time now but adobe ideas is just more user friendly than Adobe draw.
i Found that very hard to work smoothly with Adobe draw while with ideas it's much much more easy.
the way to set brush size, the undo, the "full screen" mode, and more. and what is the big news in Adobe draw? Five pages projects? Does not worth the loss in ux in the drawing part itself.
i Have both, I found myself returning and working with ideas mostly. Adobe draw is just not freindoy, and when you draw from iPhone, like me, friendly is maybe the most important thing.
There appear to be lots of us. There are nice features in Draw but I much prefer using Ideas. My bugbear is the bucket-fill command - where's it gone?
FYI, in order to bucket fill, you need to long-press on the area you want to fill. (Same goes for bucket erase.)
Hope that helps,
The long-press works with all the tools as it did in Ideas – the beauty of the paint-bucket was that it was an instantaneous click, which has a big impact when I’m doing a sketch where I want to fill areas quickly. The long-press just takes too long and is no substitute for the bucket - if you have any influence with the developers, please ask ‘em to put it back.
I am so happy I have not deleted Adobe Ideas from my ipad yet
It is much, much better compared to Adobe Draw
The thing I find irritating at most of the latter are the possibility to rotate/enlarge/shrink layers as the confusing shape of pencils
Shapes are a great feature but missing operations on layer is too much of a bad impact on the workflow!
In Draw, you can enlarge, rotate and shrink layers just as you could in Adobe Ideas. Just tap on the layer and then tap on the ellipsis (...) that appears on the right hand side of the layer panel. This will expose controls for flipping horizontal/vertical, duplicating as well as scaling and rotating a layer.
Hope that helps.
Bring back undo buttons. I can't stand swiping, but love the app.
