After many attempts, many times crashing of Adobe InDesign and me getting my nails bit shorter I've managed - not to save the file - but to slowly move the elements to a new file and saved that one carefully. The case is not urgent anymore - but I'd still like to know the answer; also on why error code has occurred in the first place. Anyone?
Nearly a hundred views and no replies...seriously there is no fix to this Adobe?
I also have an error code six on an Indesign file. Other files open fine, says that this one corrupted for some reason. Won't successfully open file and indesign crashes.
What's up Adobe, got any answers for us?
I have just had this happen! I drop boxed the indesign file with no links to a friend. She could open it at her end, so it was a linked problem. She saved it as a different file name. I changed the links from jpg to TIFF, and took a screen grab of a map I was using and linked that. And PHEW! it worked! OMG Heart attack material as we were going to print today! (Magazine) I am on creative cloud.

After a day of research, I came to a fairly simple solution that worked for me.
I changed the Document Recovery Data folder, (Edit-Preferences-File Handling- under Document Recovery Data click browse and create whatever folder, restart InDesign, reopen document).
This was done in InDesign CC 9.2 with a 600+ page indd file. Needless to say, it was a rough day.
