You'll just have to apply a new paragraph style to the new paragraph.
The Next Style doesn't apply here, because there's text after the cursor
where you split the paragraph.
So just apply a new paragraph style that doesn't have a drop cap --
verty quick if you use a keyboard shortcut for it.
Thanks for the response. The editors, despite my attempts to teach them, do not know how to use the paragraph styles. So I am trying to find something that will automatically style the newly created paragraph with the paragraph style with no drop cap.
Everyone who's is working with InDesign has to work with Paragraph and Character Styles. If the editors don't want to learn it, they should let do it someone else as this is very basic in InDesign, but also in any other layout and text editing program.
