This is the stand alone version of lightroom however.
I went to my event viewer and this is what came up for the error. I know nothing so if this means something to anybody I would love to know.

I'm having the same issue. The log out and back in trick did not work for me.
same problem. Tried contacting Adobe several times. No customer service. Bloatware.
No help from "support" either.
Same problem for me - on Win 10, LR 6 loads - I'm expectant, then I get a turning wheel. I've uninstalled it 3x , removed the previous catalogues to no avail. Adobe, where are you? Why can't we u\download 6.5?
You need to turn off the Graphics Processor from the Lightroom Preferences.
Open Control Panel >> Go to Device Manager >> Under the Display Adapter look for the Graphics Adapter >> Right Click and disable.
Go to Lightroom Preferences from the Edit menu
Click on Performance tab
Uncheck the Graphics Processor
Open and check if it works fine, then go back to the Device Manager and enable the Graphics Processor.
Let us know if that helps.
I've tried the fix of disabling my graphics processor but can't get LR6 to finish loading - it time's out when I click on "Edit". Please help - very frustrated.
