    document gridlines - percentage vs inches

      is there any way to set document gridlines to a percentage rather than a measurement, like photoshop?

      thanks,

          You can't do it with the document grid, but you could script the placement of guides at a percentage increment. In AppleScipt (OSX only) it would be something like this where the 0.1 set in the first line increments at 10%. Change it to .01 for 1 percent, .25 would be 25%. The guides are placed on the active page:

          -----------------------------------

          set i to 0.1

          tell application "Adobe InDesign CC 2014"

              set p to active page of active window

              tell active document

                  set pw to page width of document preferences

                  set vi to i * pw

                  set gi to 0

                  repeat while gi is less than pw

                      tell p

                          make new guide with properties {orientation:vertical, guide type:ruler, fit to page:true, location:gi}

                      end tell

                      set gi to gi + vi

                  end repeat

                  set ph to page height of document preferences

                  set hi to i * ph

                  set gi to 0

                  repeat while gi is less than ph

                      tell p

                          make new guide with properties {orientation:horizontal, guide type:ruler, fit to page:true, location:gi}

                      end tell

                      set gi to gi + hi

                  end repeat

              end tell

          end tell
