Lightroom 6 reports "Check OpenGL support: Failed"

    NickoPil

Lightroom 6 system info reports "Check OpenGL support: Failed".  I know that OpenGL is installed and working properly, since it passes all tests of OpenGL Extensions Viewer 4.1

      Any ideas?

I have the same problem. My OS is Windows 8.1 and the graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6570 with the last version of driver.

With test application or games the OpenGL support works fine.

          Someone can help me ?

          Thanks

My card is ATI FirePro V5800 (FireGL).  It is a workstation card and these have different drivers from Radeon (at least different numbering). I checked all drivers versions 13.xx.xxxx and 14.xx.xxxx and all 13.xx drivers work while non of 14.xx does.

Each driver was tested after completely uninstalling the previous to a state that Windows cannot find any video driver other than the generic VGA it comes with.

Looks like reverting to older driver really helps

I've got the 14.501.1003.0 version of the driver for my Radeon HD 5570 card, running W7 64 bit. Where can I find the 13.XXX version of the driver? I could not find it on the AMD site.

Radeon driver packages seems to have different numbering than FirePro (not sure 100% though) and they are found under Desktop. Your current driver is here: Desktop

On the right side there are 'Helpful links' and the last one is 'Previous Drivers and Software'.  Look there.  My understanding is that Radeon users should go back to 14.4. Check this OpenGL Failure in Lightroom CC

Exactly the same problem with my ATI Radeon HD 5700 series, which Adobe has in the tested list - Just going to have to wait I guess.

update  5-10-15: I Went to the ATI /Radeon web site and installed the driver prior to the most recent for my HD

5700 card and now it recognizes the GPU.

I'm having the same problem - Windows 7, Radeon HD 5700 series graphics card. Updated the drivers, still get the failed message.

try a site search, folks - this has been a topic of considerable conversation lately.

So, does anyone have a solution for the Lightroom CC "Check OpenGL support: Failed" issue with a GeForce GTX 650Ti board:

Supposedly, my board supports OpenGL 4.4 and Lightroom only requires 3.3.

Problem solved for Nvidia cards. Just try this solution that works for me.

Disable using GPU in Lightroom and close program.

Go to Nvidia control panel > 3D preferences

Set Anisotropy filtering, Antialliasing and V-Sync to "Use app defaults" and click apply. If any parameters already have this settings, just use any another one, press Apply and revert all settings back, than press Apply again.

Run Lightroom and try to enable using GPU. If not works, uncheck the flag and close program. Revert 3D preferences to yours one and check Lightroom again.

It works with Forceware 356.04, GeForce GTX 770, Win8 x64.

Thanks so much for this post.  Nobody seems to get it in the dozens of forums I have gone to trying to resolve this problem.  Like many, my issue was the opengl failed test, so I could not even try the thing!  You solution, although the wording was slightly different in my interface, was dead on the money, I changed those 3D settings and it instantly worked.  Thanks a ton... because - actually, all my development sliders, brushes, etc., now work in real time, on a 4K screen, no lag.  What a relief.  You're the man!!!
