Download and install Adobe Reader on your computer (see Resources), then launch the program.
Click “Edit” on the menu bar and select “Preferences” from the drop-down menu. Click on the “Accessibility” hyperlink on the left pane of the interface window. Under Document Colors Option, tick the check box next to Replace Document Colors and the radio button next to Use High-Contrast Colors.

Click the drop-down arrow next to High-Contrast Color Combinations and choose one of the color combinations. Alternatively, tick the radio button next to Custom Color and choose a color for the Page Background and the Document Text to darken light PDF files.
Click the "OK" button to view the PDF file. If needed, continue making further changes to the High-Contrast and Custom Color options to make the document easier to read.
