I work for a non-profit organization that already owns CS 5.51 (they have 1 license for their purchased copy of the entire Creative Suite). They have a second computer that they only want to put InDesign (5.51) on. The problem is, I don’t think they want to purchase the newer version. They just need the same version on a second computer. They use it to create brochures and pamphlets. Is there a way that they can purchase a second license, or a license just for InDesign on the second computer? Thank you so much for any information you might be able to offer.
The license allows two installs for one user and no, that doesn’t mean two employees of one company.
CS5.5 is no longer available through any legitimate channels.
This organization basically needs a second license for InDesign (only) on a second computer, not a whole new creative suite. It would be nice if they could just purchase the second license (or buy a copy of InDesign only) and pay a one-time fee, rather than a monthly fee for the latest software (in the cloud).
They can still buy CS6. It's about $700 but the CS5.5 user will not be able to open the CS6 files. They'll need to be saved back. You can upgrade the CS5.5 license to CS6 but you must upgrade the entire suite. I think the CS6 design standard suite would be about $550.
