Does the actual text have a language assigned to it?
Thanks for getting back to me, much appreciated
I have been using CS5 on an earlier Mac computer version 10.6 from memory and have just changed to a new computer. We migrated all the files from the old computer including all Adobe files across to Yosemite and this is when I lost my spell check.
To answer your question about language - I went to Preferences then to Autocorrect and clicked on Language and 8 languages came up all relating to European countries Russia, Ukraine, Polish, Greek etc and a Neutral - there was NO ENGLISH however.
Also I don't know if this is useful - but whenever I open a file in Indesign a dialogue box comes up saying "The following hyphenation services are not installed on this system - Proximity (English: USA) Proximity English: UK).
Hope this is helpful.
New computer? Migrated?
CS5 is not supported under Yosemite and migration is a recipe for disaster. Uninstall it, run the cleaner tool and then reinstall it properly.
Again, still unsupported but you’ll have a much better shot at success.
I will do what you suggest and see how it all goes.
Thank you very much for all your help, much appreciated.
