I can sign in to Adobe main page with my email address and my password and access my account information. I subscribe to the CC program and have LR and PS. I want to update my Lightroom app. The adobe icon on the top tool bar indicates an upgrade is available. I click on that icon and a form appears with my name is the first box (not my email address) and asking for my password. I type in my adobe password (the one I signed in on) but it does not accept it. Is there a different password needed??? I have no record of a second password.
It is possible that it is your computer security requiring you to enter your access information so as to allow the change to your machine.

That's your computer operating system asking for your local admin password for permission to install the software upgrade.
