Flash Player Crashing Safari/Firefox

Over the last week Flash Player has rendered Safari and Firefox virtually useless...  whenever I load up a site that uses it I get the pinwheel of death and if I look in activity monitor it always has a reference to Flash Player plugins not responding. 

Chrome seems to be fine somehow, but it's a total resource hog so I hate using it. 

By the look of this board and twitter it sounds like I'm not the only one... any help here? 

I'm using a 2011 MacBook Pro and OS 10.10.3

Could you please provide more information like browser version, flash version and the site you are trying to open
