Newer versions of Adobe software rarely overwrite older versions. They usually install side by side.
Sometimes plugins for older versions don't work on newer versions and people often want to be able to choose when they uninstall the older version.
If you're not using Lightroom 5, feel free to uninstall it.
New Adobe products will allow the last version to be there along with it. This has been done so that you can get used to the new Product slowly while not obstruction your daily work. Once you are handson with it, can un install it any time you wish

clearing this issue up for me. I'm pretty uneducated with computer related
I am in the same boat as Jestreeb (April 25, 2015) as I have Lightroom CC on my desktop but Lightroom 5 on my laptop. I uninstalled 5 on my laptop with the hope that the Creative Cloud would offer CC, but I now only see Lr5 offered on the Creative Cloud App and not Lr CC.
Please follow the below steps.
> Sign out and sign in from Creative Cloud app.
> Click on Apps Tab
> You should be able to find Lightroom CC (2015) under Latest versions in Creative Cloud App.
Please click on the below link for more information.
Hope this helps.
If your laptop is running a 32-bit version of Windows, Lightroom 5.7.1 is the latest version that will work for you since version 6.x requires a 64-bit OS.
