One thing that has annoyed me immensely over the years is when using Save As, Export, Place, Indesign often use the location of the last used file in the "file dialog window" instead of the current documents folder.
I keep my jobs in separate folders and not in one big folder (as the current behaviour of Indesign seems to believe is the best) and therefore have to manually navigate to/search for the correct folder, which is quite annoying in the long run.
I would like to set the same folder as the original file is contained in, as the default folder for all file actions (import, export, place) every time.
Is that possible and if so, where is that setting to be found?
(I`m using Indesign CC2014)
There is no such setting in InDesign.
If you're a Mac user, you should use an excellent third-party system extension which will solve that problem for you in all your applications. It's called Default Folder X from St. Clair Software:
Thanks Steve, I have tried that but didn´t like it and I want my OSX as clean as possible.
This should be so easy to solve if Adobe really wanted to...
