I just bought Adobe Premiere Elements 12 and I can't load some files. I got the following error message : "Le module d'importation a signalé une erreur générique" which could be translated in english by : "Import module reported a generic error". I can't load : M4a
Here is some relevant information about my system :
- Program : Adobe Premiere Elements 12
- Operating System : Windows 8.1
I tried reinstalling both Photoshop and Premiere, with no improvement.
Thanks for your help !

M4A is a wrapper, what is inside YOUR wrapper - Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?
Codec & Format information, with 2 links inside for you to read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1270588
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing

Does your video use a VARIABLE Frame Rate or a Constant Frame Rate?
Are your .m4a files iTunes music?
If they are, then you have run into a frequent issue. To resolve the known iTunes .m4a - Premiere Elements issue, please take your file into iTunes to convert it to the WAV version. And, then import that .wav version into your Premiere Elements project, using Premiere Elements' Add Media/Files and Folders.
The following is a how to use iTunes to do this conversion
If you have any questions about the how to steps, please let me know, and I will work through them with you. I have used this procedure many times.
Looking forward to your results.
