NO, I didn't disable GPU acceleration - what would be the point? I'll give it a try, but doesn't make sense.

You are correct - I should. And it seems to work - much faster. No crashes yet.
But, why is this? Using the graphics accelerator should speed up anything processor intensive. Looks like Adobe botched that feature.
AFAIK, the GeForce 9400 does support OpenGL 2.1 only where at least 3.3 is needed for LR GPU acceleration. This would perfectly explain why it does not work.
OpenGL is not only a question of the driver.

Lightroom CC crashes when attempting any modification in Develop actions. This is the case Both on 2009 Mac Book Pro and iMac.
Im really fed up and disappointed i paid for the upgrade. If your thinking of upgrading I would suggest to don't bother its A waste of time, don't bother. I've looked at other comments and tried disabling the CPU but still no solution.
